Beautifully appointed cottage
We had a wonderful holiday in this very pretty cottage which was surprisingly spacious. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds are extremely comfortable. We went with our daughter, son in law and two boys aged 10 & 7 and the accommodation suited us all. The garden is private and very large, plenty of space to play and the games chalet is a terrific addition. The cottage is well located in the village of Shorwell and an easy drive to Newport and various attractions, such as Blackgang Chine and Tapnell Farm Park.
We would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to friends. Any questions we had were immediately answered by the owners, who sent us very full and amusing information just prior to our visit. It really was a terrific staycation!

Beautiful
Full of charm, character and history, we had a wonderful two week stay at Little Thatch. We felt that the house looked better than portrayed in the photos, and we very much appreciated the art work on the walls. The kitchen was very well equipped and has beautiful views to the gardens. We highly recommend this cottage.

Perfect getaway location after lockdown
This is a superb, very well equipped, cottage that is full of character, and in a great location on the island. We booked last minute as lockdown eased and despite some anxiety regarding Covid-19 we found that there were plenty of open attractions, all with adjustments that kept everyone safe and distanced, but which did not detract from our enjoyment. There are some great village pubs in the area who were offering limited menus, but still excellent food. Booking for attractions and meals was necessary, so planning ahead each day was a must.
Tall folks like me need to take care in the cottage - after a couple of small bumps I soon learnt to duck !

Loved, loved, loved!
The cottage is absolutely lovely - fantastic rural location with gorgeous views. Local, friendly village shop and pub, lots of neighbours selling fresh eggs, plentiful walks and so much peace and quiet!
You’ll find everything you could possibly need in the cottage - the kitchen is well equipped for every need - you can even make Yorkshire puddings if you’re so inclined.
You can hook up your Amazon Prime and Netflix accounts to the smart tv, when you’re not playing on the huge amount of board games, or in the garden or the games in the summer house. Relaxing in the garden reading a book, while watching Rob O’Mow do his chores is a lovely experience!
The plentiful choice of beaches are from ten minute’s drive away, and there’s so many attractions and locations to visit on the island you can easily fill two weeks holiday without having to travel too far.
I thoroughly recommend this property.

Excellent well equipped cottage
lovely cottage, in a quiet village, with a large garden that is suitable for children, even with a Summer house full of games.
The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, even what you did not think you need.
Looking forward to visiting again.

Perfect family holiday cottage
Beautiful and relaxing cottage. Garden is amazing and family loved all the games available. Had a wonderful holiday and close to most of the main attractions the Island has to offer. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location
A fantastic thatched cottage in a peaceful location, ideal for a decent sized family and with the benefit of a good local pub a very short walk away, where you can get nice pub food. Well equipped cottage and lovely garden - wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here if you’re visiting the Isle of Wight

Beautiful cottage and amazing garden
We have visited Little Thatch several times over many years.
A fantastic location for exploring the local area, with a great pub and handy local shop, very "old-worlde".
The cottage is beautiful, very well equipped, and especially well suited to families with elderly relatives, having a bedroom on the ground floor next to a shower room.
The garden is fabulous for lazy days outside.
We hope to stay again!
